ADVENTURES WITH WOOD
I always wanted to learn how to turn wood on a lathe. I decided in my retirement to give it a try and loved the whole process of taking a log and creating something artistic and or practical. Bowls, Hollow vessels, ornaments - ANYTHING! The following is a photo journey of my adventures in turning.
FLY FISHING
I have many interest and none are greater than my lifelong adventures in fishing! I grew up fishing the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. In 1983, I took up fly fishing and never looked back. My adventures have taken me throughout the US from the Waters of the Chesapeake, to the Trout Streams of Montana and all places in between. To quote a favorite movie - I am haunted by waters! (A River Runs Trhough It).

PHOTOGRAPHY
My photographic Journey and some of the pictures I have taken along the way. These are relatively new as my journey begins in retirement. I have always loved taking pictures, now I want to learn how to use the camera and capture more artistic photos and capture the moment and the mood!
MUSIC
My professional music career spanned over 50 years. For 18 years I served as The Principal Trumpet of the New Jersey Symphony (1983 - 2000). My experiences with the N.J.S.O. were profound as I lived my dream with world class musicians making music on a daily basis. I was able to perform with numerous superstars over the years and some of my favorite artist of all time. Notably, Luciano Pavarotti and John Denver. Two musicians who inspired me in my youth and whose musicianship I still admire. After my tenure with the Symphony, I moved to back home to my roots of Virginia Beach, where I Taught at Virginia Wesleyan University and Music and Arts. As I look back I cherish my profession as it enabled me to enjoy my hobbies and pursue a well balanced life doing what I love.
